“For a Shared Future…”Imece is the entrepreneurship training and incubation program that is run by Habitat Association among 14 cities in Turkey, co-funded by UNCHR and European Union, and supported by Turkish Republic General Directorate of Immigration.
Purpose of Imece
Imece aims at sustaining the economic development of Syrian refugees, who are %3 of the Turkish population. The project plan to enabling them to integrate into the Turkish economy, so that the Turkish economy can also benefit from the Syrian workforce.
The Imece Project aims at reaching, among Syrian and Turkish citizens, entrepreneurs or aspirant entrepreneurs who want to contribute to the growth of Turkey, as well as evaluating the economic resources that Syrian refugees brought to Turkey for a collective future. Concerning the scope of the project, aimed to be implemented in 14 different cities (Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, Kilis, Ankara, Konya, Kayseri, Adana, Mersin, Adiyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Mardin, Sanliurfa) and it will target four different groups of beneficiaries.
What Is Kök Projekt Doing?
Kök Projekt takes part in the program by building and facilitating the food entrepreneurship sessions and also participating to boot camps to support the food entrepreneurs as mentors. The primary training areas are food entrepreneurship in Turkey, developing business ideas for the food market and necessities for the food entrepreneur.
